Dunfermline sex offender ignored social media ban

A DUNFERMLINE sex offender caught with more than 14,000 indecent images and videos of children ignored a court order restricting his access to social media. He admitted that being subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) granted on May 1, 2015, he breached the conditions on October 14 by accessing a social media site. The court heard that the offence came to light during a routine check by police at McGibbon’s home. Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “He accepts he set up a social media account.”
