North Carolina Public Radio - WUNC WUNC LLC Board meetings are generally open to the public and take place at WUNC s conference room located at 120 Friday Center Drive, Chapel Hill, NC, or in WUNC s conference room at American Tobacco Campus, Bay 6, Ste 600, Durham, NC. The LLC board meets three to four times this year, dates and times of the meetings are posted to our website in advance. Tech your username February 25, 2021 On Wednesday, the First Circuit issued an opinion affirming the District of Maine’s decision to grant a preliminary injunction to cable providers on First Amendment grounds against Maine regarding its à la carte cable law, ruling that cable providers should not be required to allow consumers to pick individual channels.  In 2019 Maine enacted a law (H.P. 606 – L.D. 832), entitled, “An Act to Expand Options for Consumers of Cable Television in Purchasing Individual Channels and Programs,” which requires cable companies to allow consumers to pick cable channels or programs individually for purchase, instead of bundled in a channel or package of channels; thus, imposing an à la carte requirement for cable providers. Previously, the District of Maine granted Comcast’s preliminary injunction against the law, finding that the law was not preempted by federal law and violated Comcast’s and other cable providers’

Hacker Admits Targeting Major US Websites News Highlights: Hacker Admits Targeting Major US Websites. A hacker who was the very first Cypriot citizen to be extradited to the United States has been guilty of extorting major US website operators with stolen user data. Joshua Polloso Epifaniou was a teenager when he started hacking websites, stealing information and threatening to release it if he didn’t receive a ransom. The 21-year-old resident of Nicosia, Cyprus, was arrested in February 2018 by Cypriot authorities. In July last year, Epifaniou delivered to the US to be charged in both Georgia and Arizona. Recommended According to US authorities, Epifaniou searched the website traffic rankings between at least October 2014 and November 2016 to identify targets to extort. He then partnered with fellow conspirators to steal personally identifiable information from user and customer databases of victim websites.
