Drugs worth R1.5 million were confiscated and two suspects arrested after KwaZulu-Natal police pounced on a drug manufacturing plant in Durban on Friday.
The suspects, aged 40 and 47, were arrested during a sting operation carried out in Bhoola Road, Effingham Heights, by the Drugs and Firearms Unit.
The two are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate
s Court on Monday.

He allegedly created ghost employees and siphoned nearly half a million rand of public funds.
Nkosingizwile Gama has since appeared in the Durban Magistrate s Court where he was released on R5 000 bail.

Hawks members from the Durban Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit arrested Nkosingizwile Gama, 36, for fraud on Monday, Hawks spokesperson Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo said. It is alleged that between 2015 and 2016, Gama, who was employed by Ndwedwe local municipality as payroll administrator, allegedly created ghost employees and used fictitious names to defraud the municipality.

Businessman Thoshan Panday and his co-accused appeared in the Durban Magistrate s Court.
They are accused of fraud, corruption and racketeering charges in connection with a 2010 FIFA World Cup tender.
The matter was transferred to the KwaZulu-Natal High Court.

They are expected to return to court on 8 February 2021 for the pre-trial proceedings, Investigating Directorate spokesperson Sindisiwe Twala said.

Durban – Five more people are due to be arrested in relation to a R47million World Cup accommodation tender scam involving Durban businessman Thoshan Panday, former SAPS Colonel Navin Madhoe and former provincial police commissioner Mmamonnye Ngobeni.
Panday, Madhoe and Ngobeni appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Thursday where the matter was postponed to February 8, 2021, for a pretrial hearing.
Investigating Directorate spokesperson Sindisiwe Twala said the trio appeared for the third time in the corruption case which involves the supply of KwaZulu-Natal police accommodation during the 2010 World Cup.
