Durham police arrested the man on Friday, Jan. 8 after allegations were made by a victim, who was a teenager at the time, about offences that took place from 2014 to 2015. The historic sexual assaults took place at Team Canada Black Belt Institute on Ritson Road North in Oshawa. The suspect was the victim’s instructor and was claimed to have sexually assaulted her on several occasions. He has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and sexual exploitation. He was released on an undertaking.

Police seize drugs and weapons in Oshawa Posted on January 8, 2021 by oshawaexpress in CRIME (DRPS photo) Durham police have arrested two suspects and seized a quantity of drugs and weapons after concluding a drug investigation in Oshawa. Investigators, with the assistance of the Tactical Support and Offender Management units, executed a search warrant at a residence on Mill Street in Oshawa on Thursday, Jan. 7. During the search warrant, investigators seized approximately $90,000 in cash, drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cannabis and heroin, and numerous imitation handguns and weapons. A 33-year-old Oshawa female is charged with four counts of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession for the purpose of trafficking (cannabis). She was released on an undertaking.

Suspect caught on camera lighting tow truck on fire in Ajax, Ont : police

TORONTO Police in Durham Region have released surveillance video of a man who they say lit a tow truck on fire early Friday morning. In a news release, police said they received a report of a vehicle fire on Gamble Drive in Ajax, Ont. at approximately 6:50 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they said they found a Chevrolet tow truck “fully engulfed in flames.” Firefighters were able to put the fire out and there were no injures reported, police said. Surveillance video of the incident posted by police appears to show the suspect dousing the vehicle with an unknown substance, igniting the flame and then fleeing the scene.
