FRAMINGHAM School officials believe busing contractor Durham School Services has defaulted on its contract and they re demanding the breach be fixed no later than Monday.
During Wednesday s School Committee meeting, board members voted unanimously to send a notice of breach of contract written by City Solicitor Christopher Brown to Alejandro Castro, Durham s chief financial officer.
Previously, at a Finance Subcommittee meeting, Lincoln Lynch IV, the school district s executive director of finance and operations, reported that Durham is down 23 bus drivers, supplying just 54 of the 77 required by the contract.
This poses a logistical nightmare for the city and the families of the many students who may be left without transportation to school due to Durham s breach, reads Brown s letter.
