Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported
379 new COVID-19 cases and 20 deaths on Tuesday. These figures include totals from Easter Sunday and the following Monday.
Gov. Greg Abbot issued an executive order preventing state agencies from requiring a vaccine passport. Vaccine passports have mainly been discussed in regards to international travel but in a statement, Gov. Abbot said that the government should not require proof of vaccination for Texans to lead their daily lives.

Dallas County reported 22 more COVID-19 deaths and 378 new coronavirus cases Wednesday.
The latest victims were 14 men and eight women who were in their 30s and older. Twelve of the victims were from Dallas, three from Garland, three from Irving, two from Grand Prairie and one each from Addison and DeSoto. Two lived in long-term care facilities, and all but three had underlying health conditions.
In a written statement, County Judge Clay Jenkins urged residents to sign up for a vaccine appointment.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 211 new positive COVID cases and 14 deaths on Monday. The numbers do not account for Easter Sunday and the following Monday.
A record four million vaccinations were administered in the past 24 hours in the U.S., according to the Biden administration. The U.S. is now averaging more than 3 million vaccines administered per day, WFAA reported.
The Texas Supreme Court order to forestall tenant evictions has expired despite a federal moratorium from the CDC, according to the Texas Tribune. With the state’s highest civil court not explicitly enforcing the moratorium, Texas landlords could resume pursuing evictions.

Earlier Friday, The Dallas Morning News published remarks O Rourke made on an upcoming morning program that roused the Texas political class and suggested he no longer was interested in running for governor.
