(WTXL) — A Crawfordville woman was critically injured during an ATV crash in Wakulla County Saturday evening. The Florida Highway Patrol said the 48-year-old was driving on Evalinda Street when she lost control and was thrown from the ATV around 5:50 p.m. The driver was then transported to Wakulla County High School by Wakulla County EMS, then was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare by helicopter. (WTXL) — A Florida A&M University student is hurt following a shooting that happened near Potbelly s bar early Sunday morning. The Tallahassee Police Department said that the shooting took place around 2:30 a.m. in the 400 block of College Avenue. The victim, a current FAMU student, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest, according to an FSU Alert. The 21-year-old student was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare early Sunday for his injuries, FAMU said in a statement. The FAMU community is praying for the student s speedy recovery, FAMU wrote.

Motorcade starting in Tallahassee honors Georgia deputy Justin Bedwell

More than 100 law enforcement vehicles were staged at Messer Park in Tallahassee Tuesday before departing for Bainbridge, Georgia, as part of a multi-agency processional honoring Decatur County Sheriff s Captain Justin Bedwell, who died in the line of duty over the weekend.  Law enforcement from around the region sheriff s departments from Wakulla, Leon, Gadsden and Seminole counties along with police from Tifton, Thomasville, Tallahassee and Havana drove north along Highway 27 before arriving at Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge. The motorcade was 5.5 miles long, according to TPD spokeswoman Alicia Turner. As deputies, officers, firefighters and Georgia Department of Transportation followed the route leading into Georgia, motorists paid their respects as the processional passed; some held American flags while others placed their hand over their heart as they stood along the side of the road.
