Florida State providing vaccines to employees with vulnerable health conditions

Florida State University is expanding its on-campus vaccine availability to employees of any age who have been diagnosed as “medically vulnerable.” The vaccines will be given today at the Tucker Center. Employees in this category had until Thursday to obtain verification from a healthcare provider and register. The university said it is working with Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and the Leon County Health Department to offer the vaccines “on an extremely limited basis.” The vaccine only will be available to faculty and staff, Kyle Clark, vice president for administration and finance, said in a campus memo. “At this time, eligible employees do not include those whose primary relationship is as a student. We hope to be able to quickly expand eligibility once we have enough supply to do so,” Clark said.
