The woman was hit with rape and sexual assault charges after the alleged incident at an after work social event a group of employees attended. In an email sighted by the Townsville Bulletin, Corrective Services sent a letter to staff last week advising a staff member was charged with a criminal offence. The email was sent by Acting Chief Superintendent Louise Kneeshaw, who stepped into the prison s top job after former general manager Peter Hall was stood down last year over allegations he had inappropriate relationships with a staff member.

Wade Lee Stanfield faced the Townsville Magistrates Court unrepresented on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to being in charge of a motor vehicle, tram, train or vessel under the influence of liquor. Police prosecutor Acting Sergeant Tim Madsen said Mr Stanfield had been sleeping in the driver s seat of a car on a road in Kirwan about 3am on Christmas Day. Sergeant Madsen said officers found the car running with the headlights on and windows fogged up.

A TOWNSVILLE mother released from custody early after a violent robbery is back behind bars after hacking off her electronic monitoring bracelet. Diana Ludlow, 39, faced the Townsville Magistrates Court from prison on Monday when she pleaded guilty to three offences. Ludlow was sentenced to seven years jail in the Townsville District Court in 2018 for her involvement in a brazen robbery where a balaclava-clad man, armed with a gun, stormed a Mount Louisa Pharmacy and demanded drugs as fearful shoppers took cover. The parole board granted her early release under strict conditions, including that she wear an electronic GPS monitoring device, in March this year.
