Date Time Traffic, drug and stealing charges at Townsville Police have charged a man with 27 traffic, drug and stealing offences after he failed to stop for police this afternoon in Townsville. It will be alleged at 4.40pm police were travelling on Hammond Way at Kelso when they observed a white Holden Commodore with stolen registration plates attached. Police activated emergency lights and siren however the vehicle accelerated away. A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed a short time later on Kelso Drive. The vehicle turned onto Riverway Drive and came to complete stop near Maud street after the vehicle could not be driven any further due to the extensive damage to the rims.

Man allegedly steals two gold-coloured cars from a military base

16:37 EDT, 18 April 2021 A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing two cars from a Queensland military base. Police said a 29-year-old man trespassed at the base on Saturday evening and stole items including two sets of car keys, driving away in a gold Volkswagon Golf that was later found abandoned and returning to steal a gold Ford Fiesta. He allegedly tried to re-enter the Townsville RAAF base about 6am on Sunday using the stolen vehicle but drove away when he was denied entry. Date Time Trespass of military base at Townsville A man has been charged after allegedly entering a military base and stealing two cars in Townsville overnight. Around 10pm on April 17, it is alleged the man trespassed on the base stole personal items including two sets of car keys. He then allegedly drove away in a gold Volkswagon Golf which was later found abandoned at The Strand just before 2am. Later the man allegedly returned to the military base and stole a gold Ford Fiesta. He then further attempted to re-enter the base around 6am using the stolen vehicle but drove away when he was denied entry.

Stolen vehicle crash at Townsville

Date Time Stolen vehicle crash at Townsville Four teenagers have been charged following a traffic crash in Townsville overnight involving a stolen vehicle. Police were called to the intersection of Boundary Street and Railway Avenue in Railway Estate shortly before 9pm to attend a crash between a Nissan Qashqai and Hyundai Tucson. Initial investigations indicate the stolen Nissan was travelling eastbound along Boundary Street when it allegedly travelled through a red light before being struck by the Hyundai, flipping and coming to rest in the intersection on its roof. It will be alleged the driver of the stolen Nissan, a 17-year-old Wulguru boy, fled the scene on foot and remains outstanding.
