Subscriber only A man has been rescued following a search near a mine site after fears he was swept away in floodwaters in the state s north. The search got underway west of Townsville two days ago. Ground crews, boats and aircraft were been called in to search near the surveyor mine site area in Greenvale, north of Lynd, for the man and his truck, last accounted for on Friday night. The missing man was located by searchers around 2.15pm on Sunday. He was airlifted to Townsville University Hospital suffering pain from a pre-existing back injury and dehydration.
LYING face down and unconscious in CastleTown, Kate Fulton was in the hands of strangers as she had a seizure. In May, she was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder, which affects how the brain and body send and receive messages. The veteran was forced to learn to walk and talk again this year so a short trip to the bathroom, while having lunch should have been a breeze. But while walking through the shopping centre, Kate collapsed. Yesterday she was reunited with Debbie and Jess Lind, two of the three women who rushed to her aid. Kate and her partner Meg Greenland are desperate to find the third woman, but they only know her first name - Tash.
Two fatals, West End brawl, and two balcony falls on New Year s Eve

Two people died on Queensland roads on New Year s Eve, while paramedics have attended a West End brawl, two falls from balconies, and 14 single-vehicle crashes across the night.
But Queensland Acting Chief Superintendent Chris Stream said police were on the whole pleased with the behaviour of crowds through Brisbane s entertainment precincts.
Queensland paramedics attended a large number of incidents .

A 35-year-old woman died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash near Bundaberg at 8.49pm, at Bucca Road. Police are investigating the crash.
