Despite more than 64,000 under-50s and 3700 aged care workers signing up for the jab in the past 48 hours, there are still bookings available for this weekend.
The Government has issued a warning to people attempting to just turn up without an appointment at one of the 18 Covid-19 vaccination hubs opening this weekend.

Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Yvette D’Ath has officially opened an expanded and refurbished paediatric treatment area in Townsville University Hospital’s emergency department.
Minister D’Ath said the Palaszczuk Government contributed $1.6 million towards the project, which has expanded the number of beds from seven to 12 and created a separate waiting area for children and their families.
“Visiting a hospital can be daunting for children when they’re surrounded by big people and big equipment,” she said.
“That’s why we’ve invested in this new treatment area to create a child-friendly space right within the ED.

A teenage girl was allegedly raped at a party after a group of boys bet a carton of beer over who could sleep with her first.
The 16-year-old was in tears and unable to stand after the alleged attack at the July 2020 gathering, a court has heard.
An 18-year-old male, who was then 17, was charged with three counts of rape and plead not guilty, reports the Townsville Bulletin.

The trial in Townsville Children s Court on Tuesday heard from four other partygoers, also aged 18, who were drinking on the night.
