TORNADO WARNING in effect for NE Tuscaloosa, SE Fayette Counties

The text of the warning is as follows: .A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CDT FOR NORTH CENTRAL TUSCALOOSA AND SOUTHEASTERN FAYETTE COUNTIES. At 1121 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles northwest of Samantha, or 14 miles southeast of Fayette, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD.Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE.Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT.Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include. Berry, Boley Springs, Whitson and New Lexington.

Portions of West Alabama Upgraded to Moderate Severe Weather Risk The Storm Prediction Center is updating its severe weather outlook for our area. As of about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, portions of Greene, Hale and Pickens Counties have been upgraded from an enhanced risk (level 3/5) to a moderate risk (level 4/5).
