RAID: College Street in Burnham-on-Sea A MAN who was arrested when police raided a suspected cannabis farm has been charged, and will appear at Taunton Crown Court next month. Last Wednesday (March 10), neighbourhood police carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at premises in College Street, Burnham-on-Sea. Inside the building, officers discovered more than 200 suspected cannabis plants being grown across three floors, and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis. Now, Avon & Somerset Police has confirmed that Bledar Pepa, 35, of College Street in Burnham, had been charged with producing a class B drug (cannabis).

Linda Valerie Jane Dennehy, 50, of Westonzoyland Road, Bridgwater, Somerset, attended Taunton Magistrates Court this week. She was fined £40 for possession of diamorphine last June. Dennehy was also fined for driving a motor vehicle whilst disqualified from driving on two occasions in 2019. She was fined £120 for each offence, had to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs. She has also again disqualified from driving for six months. She pleaded guilty to both offences. Another woman from near Bridgwater was fined for drug driving in the town last July. Estanislau Pereira, 42, of Lilliana Way, North Petherton, Bridgwater was fined £120 at Taunton Magistrates Court.
