ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) An employee at the Ithaca Walmart has tested positive for coronavirus.
According to the Tompkins County Health Department, the employee worked Monday, December 14th from 8:30 to 6:30 and the following day, 2 o’clock to midnight. They’re in isolation and close contacts are being quarantined.
If you were at the Ithaca Walmart last Monday or Tuesday at the times disclosed, it’s recommended you schedule a test for COVID-19. Tags:

Member-Filed Resolution Changes Composition of Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency to Include a Local Labor Representative.
A resolution to change the composition of Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) member-filed by Legislator Anna Kelles (D-Ithaca) passed unanimously at the Dec.15 County Legislature meeting.Â
Kelles referenced the outpouring of interest from the public in this action.
âThis is to uphold and expand the intention of the IDA to create local jobs,â she said.Â
Legislator Anne Koreman stated, âA silver lining to this pandemic is it has put everything back on the table. Think, âwhat if we were starting the IDA now,â it would make perfect sense for labor to have a seat at the table.â Union leaders and public advocates for local labor joined privilege of the floor to express their support for the resolution.

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Tompkins County COVID-19 death toll rises to 12, after an additional six lives are lost at the Oak Hill Nursing Home.
The information released by the Tompkins County Health Department brings the total number of deaths at Oak Hill up to 11. New York State’s Health Department is leading contact investigations and testing. Public Health Director Frank Kruppa calls the deaths “heartbreaking,”.
The COVID outbreak at Oak Hill was first reported in November. At one point 39 residents and 13 staff tested positive for COVID-19. Tags:
