ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – It’s a national search for a new director at the Tompkins County Public Library.
A 15-member search committee says the process is underway and it includes a national advertising campaign. Interested applicants are encouraged to review online information about the library and position.
Applications are asked to be submitted to Tompkins County Human Resources by January 31st.
Search Committee chair Blixy Taetzsch says the library is looking for a dynamic leader and communicator who is passionate about expanding library access and continuing a commitment to excellence. Current director Annette Birdsall is retiring this spring.

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Tompkins County Health Department says it needs nurses and contact tracers to help with COVID-19 response.
The department has two permanent positions open in the role of Community Health Nurse and several temporary positions in the role of Registered Professional Nurse.
Public Health Director Frank Kruppa says the department scaled up operations consistently since the beginning of the pandemic and the staff has gone above and beyond expectations.
