Kim White announced as principal of Dawson County Middle School Kim White
Gwinnett County native and former Dawson County Assistant Principal Kim White has been named as the new principal of Dawson County Middle School, school officials announced on Wednesday.
White’s naming to the position was made official on Tuesday night at the Dawson County Board of Education’s monthly meeting. She will replace the current principal, Randi Sagona, who is set to retire at the end of the school year.
According to a school system press release, White is completing her 17th year in public education and has spent the last six years as assistant principal of Dawson County Middle School.

With just days to go until Christmas, people young and old throughout Dawson County are feeling the holiday spirit and ready for a visit from Santa Claus.
This year the Dawson County News received hundreds of Letters to Santa from students in the Dawson County School System. In-demand items for Christmas 2020 included the PlayStation 5, AirPods, LOL Dolls, Hoverboards and dozens of other toys and games. But the holiday wishing didn t just go one way this year, scores of youngsters asked Santa to keep family and friends healthy, and told Santa to stay safe on his yearly trip round the earth.
Mandy Power named as new Dawson County Chamber President Mandy Power
The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce has officially named Mandy Power, a local banking leader, as its new president.
Power, a long-time resident of Dawson County, will assume her new role overseeing day-to-day operations of the Chamber of Commerce, the Office of Tourism Development and the Dawson County Development Authority on Jan. 5, 2021, following the departure of current chamber president Christie Moore.
“I am incredibly humbled and honored to be leading the Chamber, Office of Tourism and Economic Development into the next chapter,” Power said in the release. “I have very big shoes to fill as Christie Moore has left a giant imprint on this community. I love Dawson County as this is the place my husband and I have chosen to raise our children and have had the privilege of working at for the past 12 years.”

DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. A 38-year-old Dawson County teacher has been charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation, according to Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson.
Johnson said that Dawson County High School business teacher Ryan Dennis Coker allegedly was in possession of photographs depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and is accused of observing, photographing or recording the activities of an individual in a private place without the victim s consent.
According to Johnson, an investigation was started earlier this week after a minor came forward to authorities as an alleged victim.
