HANNIBAL â The Hannibal Salvation Army celebrated a big milestone on Thursday at the Family Store, as the 2020 Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign concluded with total funds raised surpassing the $104,000 goal by more than $14,000.
Campaign chairs Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn, Hannibal Police Chief Lyndell Davis, Hannibal Fire Chief Mike Benjamin, NECOMM 911 Executive Director Mike Hall, Marion and Ralls County Ambulance Director John Nemes and Hannibal Regional President and CEO Todd Ahrens announced the Hannibal Salvation Armyâs largest fundraiser of the year reached a total of $118,576. Caseworker Amanda Bowen said the successful results will enable the Hannibal Salvation Army to reach more families and individuals in the community, and Salvation Army Area Coordinator Captain Michael Sjogren said everyone was excited about the result and the generosity that made it possible.
VACCINATION CLINICS will begin in Northeast Missouri next week, signaling what everyone hopes will be a big step toward recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hannibal Regional Hospital Pharmacy Manager Charity Sturgeon, was among those receiving her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday. Dr. Pranav Parikh, the chief medical officer at HRH, was the first to be vaccinated. âWhile the vaccine is only available to frontline health care workers now, we look forward to the future when we can offer this to our patients and community,â said Todd Ahrens, Hannibal Regional Healthcare System president and CEO.
FIRST HRH VACCINATIONS CONTRIBUTED
Hannibal Regional recently received donations and cards of appreciation for the Hannibal Regional team members continuing the community fight against COVID. The Hannibal Evening Kiwanis Club, Hannibal Key Club and General Mills all worked together to raise funds and donate products for to the employees at Hannibal Regional in their âCoffee for Heroesâ Project. The effort included snacks, Nature Valley protein bars and drinks at the Caring Cup and Courtyard Cafe. The team at Hannibal Regional appreciates support from the community, and they thank the Hannibal Evening Kiwanis for this support as well as their support in encouraging the use of masks and other safety precautions to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
