Dodge, Jefferson County authorities investigating string of burglaries

ASHIPPUN, Wis. Dodge and Jefferson county law enforcement officials are asking the public to keep an eye out for two men who are suspected to be responsible for a string of burglaries in the counties.
According to a news release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, authorities in both counties are investigating a series of burglaries with similar descriptions.
Dodge County officials said one of the suspects knocks on a door and identifies himself as worker for a local power company in an attempt to get homeowners to walk the property line away from the home. Meanwhile, the other suspect enters the home and steals items.

A Nickerson man and Fremont woman were both sentenced to two years in prison for absconding from their probations in the Dodge County District Court Monday.
Tyler F. Vance, 38, and Alicia F. Utterback, 32, admitted to violating the conditions of their probations and were found guilty by Judge Geoffrey Hall.
On April 4, 2019, Vance was sentenced to 30 months of intensive supervised probation for possession of a controlled substance charge.
âHe previously had absconded on probation and a motion to revoke had been filed on him,â Deputy Dodge County Attorney Emily Beamis said. âThe defendant was once again given the privilege to remain on probation through an agreement between the defense and the state.â
