Humberside Police contacted potential victims of Geoffrey Broome after receiving a tip-off from a member of the public.
A Detective Constable from the force told Doncaster Crown Court on Thursday they began investigating Broome - a former youth football coach who is currently standing trial at Doncaster Crown Court accused of eight indecent assault charges on three players when they were boys - in 2016.
Detective Constable Stuart Quinn told the court Humberside Police received a tip-off in 2016 from a member of the public that Broome had sexually abused boys he had coached.
