Intertape Polymer Group to invest $45M, expand in Virginia Intertape Polymer Group Inc. Intertape makes film- and paper-based pressure sensitive and water-activated tapes, polyethylene and specialized polyolefin films, woven coated fabrics and packaging systems for industrial and retail use. Intertape Polymer Group Inc. will invest $45 million over the next four years, beginning with expanding its facility near Danville, Va., creating 50 new jobs in the area. The investment includes a 30,000-square-foot plant expansion plus investment in production, operations and capacity, according to a Jan. 19 news release from Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam. IPG is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and has offices in Sarasota, Fla., and Montreal.

The company will add 30,000 square feet to its facility at 1101 Eagle Springs Road and act on a series of investments in production, operations, and capacity, totaling approximately $45 million over the next four years. Virginia successfully competed with Colorado, North Carolina, and Utah for the project, which will create 50 new jobs.

Sovah Health lays out vaccine side effects as hospital admits record number of COVID patients

One week ago, Sovah Health was actively treating 40 patients infected with COVID-19. Today, Sovah is reporting 58 patients between its two hospital campuses, the most admitted at one time since the dawn of the pandemic. However, after a Sovah nurse had an allergic reaction to the vaccine this week, officials recommended bringing an EpiPen to each of the Pfizer vaccine s two dosage sessions. Officials also warned of other potential side effects. Headache, fever and chills are possible, body aches, myalgias—it s important that people note these side effects are possible so there s not a panic if they start to arrive, said Sheranda Gunn-Nolan, chief medical officer. They re more likely to have those symptoms after the second dose.
