Police investigating murder-suicide in Dauphin County

Updated: 4:06 PM EDT May 15, 2021 DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. Police are investigating a murder-suicide in Swatara Township, Dauphin County that happened Friday. Police said shortly before midnight, they were dispatched to a house in the 600 block of Mohn Street for a domestic incident. Authorities did not receive an answer at the door and forced entry into the home. Police found a male and female dead with gunshot wounds. Police say the investigation is being conducted by Swatara Police detectives, the Dauphin County District Attorney s Office and the Dauphin County Coroner s Office.  Identities of those involved are being withheld pending notification to the families, according to officials.

Township police said they were called to the 600 block of Mohn Street at about 11:59 p.m. because of a domestic disturbance. No one answered when they knocked on the door, police said. When police stepped inside the home, they said they found a man and woman dead with gunshot wounds. Their identities have not yet been released.

Police say a man and a woman died in a murder-suicide in Swatara Township, Dauphin County.Officers were dispatched just before midnight Friday to a reported domestic incident at a home in the 600 block of Mohn Street.No one answered the door, but officers could hear a baby crying and forced their way inside the home.Police said they found Elizabeth Wise, 36, dead on the couch from gunshot wounds.Brian Womelsdorf, 42, was on the floor with a gunshot wound to his head, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.Police said the two had been arguing, which ended with Womelsdorf shooting Wise multiple times and then shooting himself.Three minor children were in the home at the time of the shooting, according to police. The children were not hurt and are now with family members.

Man, 37, found dead in cell at Dauphin County Prison Updated 2:43 PM; A 37-year-old man was pronounced dead early Wednesday at the Dauphin County Prison. He is the second inmate to die in less than two months, authorities said. The man was found tied to his bedding around 3 a.m., according to a Dauphin County news release. The release said it appears the man hanged himself. The Dauphin County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene. The county identified him as Kyle Joseph Nadwodny, who listed an address in the Linglestown area. He was charged with 25 counts of disseminating photographs or film of child sex acts, 31 counts of possession of child pornography, and criminal use of communication facility. His bond was set at $150,000, which he could not post when he was arrested May 5.
