(File photograph) A terrified motorist had an axe smashed through his window by a gang of armed attackers when he chanced upon a violent disturbance. The incident began when a Volvo car carrying a group of assailants deliberately crashed into a Seat vehicle on Gateway Street, near Leicester s DeMontfort University on at 11.30pm on Thursday December 17. James Varley, prosecuting, told the city s crown court that Rediol Sollaku, 32, emerged from the Volvo brandishing an axe and swung it at the Seat before pursuing one of its fleeing occupants.
