While so many other towns suffered terrible fires followed by civic vandalism, Diss has been more fortunate and as a result has some fine and beautiful buildings.

The 16
th century Dolphin, once such a popular pub and across the road from the St Mary’s Church which itself was founded in 1290. There s the Saracen’s Head and so many more wonderful buildings.

Nominations are now being accepted for a townâs prestigious annual awards, which are set to recognise the generosity and acts of kindness that typified 2020.
Organised by Diss Town Council, the Honoured Citizen and Junior Good Citizen awards will once shine a light on the townâs unsung heroes.
Launching the nomination process, mayor Sonia Browne said: â2020 has been a particularly challenging year for our community.

âThe impact of the pandemic has been felt by everyone, from businesses and all those in key worker roles to people living alone, families and those whose situations have made them particularly vulnerable, but, true to form, Dissâ strong community spirit has shone through.
