To try to lessen an ag teacher shortage throughout the region, Dickinson State University is partnering with North Dakota State University to train more potential ag teachers through an innovative master’s degree program. 6:00 am, May 31, 2021
DICKINSON, N.D. Across the western United States, you’ll hear a common refrain, said Jim Rose, state adviser for Montana FFA.
“Everyone wants an ag program, but to try to find a teacher to do it with is the challenge,” he said.
Montana has 98 agriculture education programs, and Rose said that’s a number that has climbed over the past decade, during which time they’ve added one to three programs per year.
Electronics recycling event held today
406 Recycling s monthly electronics recycling will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, May 28, at the Good Samaritan Thrift Store located at 3067 N. Montana Ave.
A voluntary $10 donation to Good Samaritan is encouraged. Most items including personal electronics, office equipment, and entertainment systems, including accessories, are accepted for free at the event. Charges apply for some older style monitors and TVs, non-working microwaves, televisions larger than 36 inches, and data-destruction receipts.

Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health June 2-4 Will Be Virtual

Grand Forks – The 36th Annual Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health, taking place June 2-4, will be presented virtually. Registration is now open with reduced fees. The conference includes four keynote addresses, 18 sessions, eight intensive sessions, and a legislative policy panel. Continuing education credits will be available. For participants registered for the full conference, there will be a limited number of enduring credits available for one year after the conference, and all presentation recordings will be available.
The Dakota Conference provides an opportunity for healthcare professionals, educators, and students to share strategies for building and sustaining healthy communities in North Dakota. It includes two and one half days of pre- and post-conference meetings, keynote speakers, breakout sessions, poster presentations, and an awards banquet.
