New Delhi, May 4 : India is a culturally diverse country with over 120 different languages being spoken here. It is estimated that over 430 million of the Indian population are active on the internet, out of which 227 million users originate from rural India, and over 70 per cent of the overall prefer to converse using their native language on social media (not English).
India, with a population of 136.6 crore in 2021 has witnessed a massive 179.8 per cent increase in social media user base since the genesis of Digital India Campaign, launched in 2015. It is estimated that the user base will grow by 12 per cent till 2023. So why is it important to communicate with the regional language users in their language?
