There is a storm brewing in Arizona. For the past week, Maricopa County â the state s major population center â which narrowly favored President Joe Biden during the 2020 general election, has been holding its very own election audit following demands from a Republican-led coalition to recount the ballots.
Stoking the fire behind the audit is an army of online QAnon conspiracy theorists, who have taken it upon themselves to fastidiously monitor live streams of each and every auditor in the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix, where the recount is being held, according to
In anticipation of a verdict in the trial, Facebook pledged to remove posts from Facebook and Instagram that urged people to take up arms and any content that praised, celebrated or mocked George Floyd’s death. It also designated Minneapolis as a “high risk location.”
“As we have done in emergency situations in the past, we may also limit the spread of content that our systems predict is likely to violate our Community Standards in the areas of hate speech, graphic violence, and violence and incitement, Monika Bickert, vice president of content policy, said in a blog post.
Facebook took similar steps to curb flow of misinformation and calls to violence in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

This is inaccurate, but Battleâs claims â in emailed comments to AFP â reflect the age-old political cudgel of pocketbook issues used to attack opponents, and which have become a popular misinformation front on social media.
Battleâs was one of more than 250 emails which AFP received since February in response to fact checks that debunked misleading claims about the escalating retail cost of gasoline.
Could Killer Army Robots Soon Be Coming to Ukraine?
A remote-controlled fighting vehicle could be a good advancement, but must avoid being a gimmicky flash in the pan.
Here s What You Need to Know: Drones paradoxically make it easier for societies to wage perpetual wars.
For several years, Ukrainian troops have been locked in a “frozen conflict” with Russian-backed separatists for control of the Donbas region in Eastern Ukraine. The maneuver warfare and urban/airport siege phase of the conflict ended in 2015. Now the opposing forces glare at each other across no man’s land from fortified outposts and periodically lash out with sniper fire, artillery and mortar barrages, or even precision-attacks delivered by anti-tank missiles.
