Study Finds That Women Directed a Record Number of Films in 2020
Research from the Centre for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego State University in the US found that women directed a record high number of movies in 2020 compared to other years.
Varietyreports the study found that women represented 16 per cent of directors working on the 100 highest-grossing films in 2020, which is a legitimate increase from the 12 per cent recorded representation in 2019 and a mere 8 per cent in 2018.
