Police: Man sought after shooting in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WWBT) - Police say a man is being sought in connection to a shooting that took place in Petersburg.
On May 3 around 10:55 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of James Road at the Summit Point Apartment complex for the report of a person shot.
After arriving on the scene, police located a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital.
According to police, a warrant has been obtained for Tito Alphonso Coleman, 44, of Petersburg for aggravated malicious wounding.

PETERSBURG, Va. A 14-year-old girl heard what she described as fireworks before she was grazed by a bullet in a shooting in Petersburg Sunday evening, according to police.
Capt. Emanuel Chambliss with Petersburg Police said officers were called to the 1400 block of Farmer Street for a report of a person shot just before 7 p.m.

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. Authorities said a teenager in need of medication who disappeared from his Dinwiddie County home has been found safe.
Deputies said 16-year-old Christopher Wilson Jr., who goes by J.J., walked away from his home in the 11000 block of Asbury Road in McKenney at some point between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Christopher is a high functioning autistic and suffers from epilepsy, deputies said. He left home without his epilepsy medication which he needs twice a day.
