This destination marks the 43rd city the low-cost carrier serves from the popular Central Florida tourist destination, more than any other airline. The service will begin on Saturday, March 6, 2010, with AirTran Airways’ Wi-Fi equipped, Boeing 717. AirTran will be the only carrier offering non-stop service from DSM to Orlando International Airport. “AirTran Airways is very excited to begin service from Des Moines to one of the nation’s most popular tourist destinations,” said Kevin Healy, senior vice president of marketing and planning for AirTran Airways. “We look forward to offering our low-cost, high-quality product from central Iowa to our hometown of Orlando.”
