Ex-officer who police say killed 3 in Texas has been arrested after 20-hour manhunt

The former law enforcement officer suspected of fatally shooting three people, including his wife and 17-year-old daughter, in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, has been captured after a 20-hour manhunt, authorities said.
Stephen Broderick, 41, was arrested early Monday by the same agency that once employed him, the Travis County Sheriff s Office. Deputies tracked him down after getting two 911 calls about a man walking along a road in the Austin suburb of Manor. He had a pistol in his waistband but was taken into custody without any further violence, the Associated Press reported.

Three people were killed in a shooting in Northwest Austin on Sunday morning.
And, after hours on the run, the suspect who is former law enforcement was taken into custody on Monday morning.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, three adults were killed. The victims have been tentatively identified as two Hispanic females and a Black male. Officials say they believe the victims were all known to the suspect, but their exact relationship is unknown.

AUSTIN, TX A former Travis County Sheriff s deputy involved in a shooting that left three people dead at the Arboretum Oaks Apartments apartment complex Sunday has been captured, authorities said.
Stephen Nicholas Broderick, a former property crimes detective with the county, was taken into custody without incident around 7 a.m. Monday in the 12300 block of Kimbro Road near Manor, according to the Austin Police Department and Travis County Sheriff s Office.
