Three people were killed in a shooting in Northwest Austin on Sunday morning.
And, after hours on the run, the suspect who is former law enforcement was taken into custody on Monday morning.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, three adults were killed. The victims have been tentatively identified as two Hispanic females and a Black male. Officials say they believe the victims were all known to the suspect, but their exact relationship is unknown.

(Reuters) - Texas authorities on Monday apprehended a former sheriff s detective suspected of fatally shooting three people at an apartment complex in Austin a day earlier, police said.
Stephen Broderick, 41, was arrested without incident at about 7 a.m. following two 911 emergency calls about a suspicious person walking on a rural street near U.S. 290, said Police Chief Ryan Phipps of Manor, Texas, about 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Austin. He was armed with a pistol in his waistband, Phipps said. He complied with verbal instructions. There was no resistance.
In an apparent domestic dispute, two women and a man were shot dead shortly before noon on Sunday, police said.

The third multiple shooting reported in the United States within 24 hours saw five people hospitalized after being shot and injured in a drive-by shooting at a liquor store in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Sunday. One victim was shot in the head, while another suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Multiple police units were dispatched to the scene of the incident, which took place around 9 p.m. local time on Sunday on Hearne Avenue. Police officers were responding to reports of heavy traffic when the shots were heard at the liquor store. “We responded this evening to a traffic congestion and during that congestion, numerous shots were fired,” the spokesman said.

The alleged gunman who killed three people Sunday near an apartment complex in Austin, Texas, was taken into police custody after a manhunt that lasted about 20 hours.
Stephen Nicholas Broderick, 41, a former detective at the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested Monday at around 7:30 a.m. after police responded to a pair of 911 calls about a man walking along a rural highway in nearby Manor, Texas.
Manor Police said Broderick had a loaded pistol in his waistband.
According to police, Broderick knew the victims. Police have not provided a possible motive.
