Augusta woman’s run on ‘Jeopardy!’ comes to an end after two victories
Jamie Logan concluded a 3-day run on the game show Friday night, finishing second to a Virginia graduate student and taking home more than $50,000.

A Maine woman ended a three-day run on “Jeopardy!” Friday night, but fulfilled a lifelong dream and won big along the way.
Jamie Logan, a self-employed writer and consultant from Augusta, finished second behind Juliet Mayer, a graduate student originally from The Plains, Virginia. Sara Biegler, a stay-at-home parent from Syracuse, New York, was third.

A woman from Augusta won big Wednesday evening on the popular television game show “Jeopardy!”
Jamie Carter Logan, a writer consultant who graduated from Deering High School in Portland in 2005, defeated reigning champion Hannah Howard, an editor from New York City, and Elliott Goodman, a history/Latin teacher from Culver City, California, by correctly answering the Final Jeopardy question: “The title of this huge hit 1977 album was the idea of the bass player, who stressed it should be spelled the British way.”

Jamie Logan has wanted to be on the show her whole life and finally got the chance after auditioning for 15 years; she will compete again Friday night after winning on Wednesday and Thursday.

Logan has auditioned with the game show’s online quiz more times than she can remember in the past 15 years. She received a call from producers twice when she was a student at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., for the college version of the game, and then two more times as an adult for the regular version.

The University of Maine School of Law has three former governors and four Maine Supreme Court justices among its alumni, but its dingy, off-white round, blocky home off Brighton Avenue in Portland is a real stinker, according to Architectural Digest.
“This university building may look like a futuristic version of the Roman Colosseum, but the only battles happening within these walls are with the bar exam,” the magazine wrote in a recent article declaring the building one of the eight ugliest university buildings in America.
