An independent body has found Teesside Airport is on “on track” but the pandemic poses a “major risk” to future passenger numbers.
Staff at research firm SQW found “encouraging progress” at the airport in a report into how the Tees Valley Combined Authority had performed in the past five years (TVCA).

A rail firm whose noisy trains are making the lives of some residents “absolute hell” should be more neighbourly, a local councillor says.
Teesside Wind Farm near the mouth of the River Tees SIX projects across the UK will today receive a share of £8 million in Government funding as part of a drive to create the world’s first net-zero emissions industrial zone by 2040. The funding will be used to develop ways to cut carbon emissions from major industries – helping safeguard the thousands of jobs that depend on the chemical and process sector in Teesside. The new cash is the latest phase of the Government’s £170 million Industrial Decarbonisation Challenge which has the potential to create tens of thousands of jobs. The announcement is the latest boost to the region as it pushes ahead with key projects that will help the Government meet its commitment to net zero emissions by 2050.
