Lil Wayne referenced the 2019 federal weapons charges he had been pardoned for in a new song released the same night, “Ain’t Got Time”.
He raps, ““The feds, they hot on us, 100 on the thermometer / They raided my private plane, got one that’s more privater.” Later in the song he adds, “FBI arrest me, why?”
Lil Wayne faced up to 10 years in federal prison after he was found in possession of a gold-plated handgun on a private plane.
Lil Wayne also thanked
Trump on Twitter. The rapper wrote, “I want to thank President
Trump for recognizing I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community.”

Popular American rapper, Dwayne Michael Carter Jr aka ‘Lil Wayne’, has thanked former US president, Donald Trump for granting him presidential pardon.
Newsmen had earlier reported that Donald Trump granted the rapper a full presidential pardon in his final hours as the president.
Lil Wayne, who was facing a federal weapons charge because of the December 2019 incident at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport had pleaded guilty in December and was looking at 10 years in prison.
However, earlier this week, a statement concerning Wayne’s pardon was released by the White House, saying that the rapper’s commitment to charity is the reason for the pardon.
White House on Wednesday said that outgoing President Donald Trump has pardoned 73 people, including his former aide Steve Bannon, just before he was due to leave the office.
However, Trump did not pardon himself, members of his family or lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
Trump leaves office on Wednesday when Joe Biden is sworn in as the nation's next president. White House officials had argued to Trump that he should not pardon himself or his family because it might look like they are guilty of crimes, according to a source familiar with the situation.
