Williamson County bars are allowed to reopen with a 50% capacity limit.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission on Sunday approved a request by County Judge Bill Gravell to allow bars to reopen in the county because the county is in an area that no longer has high hospitalizations due to coronavirus, a county press release said.
Under Gov. Greg Abbott s GA-32 order, bars are allowed to open with limited capacity when the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations falls below 15% of total occupancy for seven consecutive days in a trauma service area..
Travis, Williamson, Hays and Bastrop are all in Texas Trauma Service Area O, which includes seven other counties.
For the past 42 days, the trauma service area that includes Angelina and Nacogdoches counties have had a hospitalization rate of 15 percent or more of its hospitals’ total capacity.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - For the past 41 days, the trauma service area that includes Angelina and Nacogdoches counties have had a hospitalization rate of 15 percent or more of its hospitalsâ total capacity.
On Friday, the Texas Department of State Health Services reported that TSA Hâs hospitalization was at 17.48 percent, which was down from Thursday. On Wednesday, the hospitalization rate was at 19.36 percent. There were also 15 ICU beds available on Friday.
For the past 40 days, the trauma service area that includes Angelina and Nacogdoches counties have had a hospitalization rate of 15 percent or more of its hospitals’ total capacity.
On Wednesday, the Texas Department of State Health Services reported that TSA H’s hospitalization was at 20.37 percent, which was down but only just barely from Tuesday.
