There are two “new” communities that have joined our regional economic development organization, and as such, I’m pleased to welcome the City of Uhland and the City of Wimberley as investors in the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP).
One of the key parts of GSMP’s mission is to unite our region s diverse stakeholders in the collaborative pursuit of economic prosperity for all. By becoming full investors in the Partnership, these two communities are taking an active hand in building economic opportunities for their residents and for the Texas Innovation Corridor as a whole.

The Greater San Marcos Partnership is making a last call for nominations for its 2021 Burdick Innovation Award.
The nomination deadline for this year’s Burdick award is Friday. Those interested in nominating a business located in Hays or Caldwell County can visit GreaterSanMarcosTX.com/Burdick-Award. GSMP is asking for nominations to include a brief statement describing how the company has used novel methods, ideas, products or practices to find innovative solutions.
“Now more than ever, our region is becoming a hot spot for commercial innovation, creativity and ingenuity,” said Jason Giulietti, president of the Greater San Marcos Partnership. “The Burdick Innovation Award recognizes and celebrates new ideas, processes and products, all while creating great-paying jobs.”

We’ve said often that economic development is a team sport. When it comes to showing off our region to major decision-makers, that absolutely is the case once again.
The Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP) recently hosted five of the best site selectors from around the country during our 2021 Texas Innovation Corridor Familiarization Tour. This tour, which is done annually, shows in-demand consultants why our footprint is a high-quality place to do business. It builds relationships that bring better projects and develops authenticity that becomes a resounding testament for companies looking to expand or relocate to our region.
One of the biggest challenges in securing expanding and relocating employers is having available and existing building facilities that allow employers to quickly move in and begin operations.[San Marcos, TX] [Hays County news] News, Features San Marcos News, San Marcos Record [Texas State]

Happy Economic Development Week, everyone! This week, May 9-15, is nationally recognized by the International Economic Development Council as an opportunity for promoting local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities, and improve communities’ quality of life everywhere.
I am greatly pleased to share during this week that our region’s great partnerships and regional collaboration has put us on track for the best year ever for our region’s economic growth. The Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP) is about to close on its eighth company expansion or relocation this fiscal year. More details will be shared soon, but I want to take this moment to reflect on what this number of ann
