Lubbock hospitals to receive COVID-19 vaccine in coming days
Covenant Medical Center and University Medical Center are on the list of hospitals receiving the first round of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine this week.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services detailed list of hospitals receiving doses this week, Covenant Medical Center will receive 2,925 doses and UMC will receive 1,950 doses.
Covenant is expecting to receive its shipment on Tuesday. UMC is hoping for theirs on Wednesday.
The first vaccines will go to Lubbock s front-line healthcare workers. The vaccines will be shipped directly to the hospitals, where workers will immediately receive the first of two doses of the vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine will require two doses about three weeks apart.
