DALLAS Texas this week is receiving an additional 2.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, but there’s not always enough people on hand to help get those vaccines into arms.
One of the largest vaccination sites in the Dallas area is the historic Fair Park, and Dallas County is in need of volunteers to help administer vaccines.

here. There are multiple shifts available. On alternating days, Fair Park makes the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines available.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Almost 29% of the population in Texas has received at least one dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC reported Monday that about 16% of the population in the state has completed their vaccination.
Over the last two weeks, the rolling average number of daily new cases of the coronavirus in Texas has decreased by about 28%, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
The Texas Department of State Health Services on Monday reported 890 new confirmed and probable cases and three additional deaths.
Austin Public Health expands vaccine appointments to 40-plus age group, officials say
Travis County residents who are at least 40 years old can now receive a coronavirus vaccine through Austin Public Health, according to the area s top health officials on Tuesday.
Austin Public Health Director Stephanie Hayden-Howard announced that the agency was expanding its vaccine eligibility this week after the demand for vaccination appointments for those in the Phase 1A, 1B and 1C sub-groups designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services had decreased.
Those three sub-groups include front-line health care workers, residents at long-term care facilities, people 65 and older, people 16 and older with a health condition, school and licensed child care personnel and people 50 to 64 years old.
