Matt Rose - LP&L Ready For Switch To ERCOT

Tuesday on  The Chad Hasty Show, Matt Rose from Lubbock Power and Light joined the program to talk about the upcoming switchover to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) system. Rose said, Everything is going well, and right now, according to plan.This is obviously about six years in the making.Where this began as a project of approvals that we had to get down in Austin and kind of gearing up for it, through those approvals to the last eighteen months where we ve been constructing all of these transmission lines, we re now at a place where all of these facilities have been built and are in the ground and are ready to be energized. According to his Instagram page, former Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year Mylik Wilson has committed to Texas Tech. Makingthemadness.com describes Wilson like this: Wilson burst onto the scene during his freshman campaign in 2019-20 with a robust stat line of 11.5 PPG, 5.7 RPG & 2.9 APG, but the question surrounding all freshman that produces at a high-level that aren’t one-and-done guys is How much more room for growth is there? . In Year two, Wilson replicated his exact stat line, except going to 12 PPG, but noticeably dropped in the efficiency department from 37% from deep to a measly 25%. Wilson’s going to be a pivotal piece for a tournament-level team next season.

Constitutional Carry, Other Issues Still In Legislative Process

Monday on  The Chad Hasty Show, Scott Braddock, editor of QuorumReport.com, joined the program to share an update on news from Austin and the 87th Texas Legislature. Braddock and Hasty discussed the many large items still on the agenda and being debated in the legislature, including abortion restrictions, Constitutional Carry, limits on the governor s emergency powers, and much more. Braddock said, None of these big things, including Constitutional Carry, have an exactly clear path to passage. That doesn t mean that they won t happen , but there still does have to be some negotiation between the Texas House and Texas Senate on all these issues that we re talking about.As has often been said, if the House and Senate don t exactly agree on whatever the proposal is, then that thing doesn t happen in the legislative process.
