A Texas elementary school principal was shot to death by her husband outside her home this week while her two children were inside, police said.
Erica Allen, 35, was found in the front yard of her League City home on Wednesday. Neighbors in the community an hour southeast of Houston witnessed her estranged husband shoot her and then go back into the house, according to KHOU.
Nicholas Allen then apparently called the police and falsely claimed that a home invasion was in progress at his house. The investigation determined that the initial call of a home invasion was untruthful, and the incident stemmed from a domestic problem, reads a statement from the League City Police Department.

HOUSTON – Several Houston-area school districts are responding after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced the lifting of business capacity limits and the state’s mask mandate.
Under the executive order, which went into effect March 10, Abbott added that public schools may operate under the standard health protocols issued by the Texas Education Agency. Private schools and colleges are expected to follow the same standard.
Houston-area school districts have issued statements on how they plan to move forward.

TEXAS CITY, Texas - The Texas City Independent School District has announced two schools will be closed on Thursday.
According to the district, classes are canceled for Kohfeldt and Calvin Vincent only for Thursday, Jan. 7 due to storm damage.
