Gov. Greg Abbott is now saying he would sign a bill letting people carry handguns in public without a license if lawmakers pass it. He has been skirting the issue for weeks now. The proposed bill would allow people to carry handguns in Texas without first getting a license if lawmakers choose to pass it. As reported by KCENTV, Abbot was quoted as saying I support it, and I believe it should reach my desk, and we should have constitutional carry in Texas, Abbott told North Texas radio host Rick Roberts. Abbott goes on to add “This is something that 20 other states already have adopted and it’s time for Texas to adopt it too.”
