The rescue likely saved this animal s life. My feet and hands are frozen right now, I don t know how this dog was surviving, said Andre Jones, Detroit Pit Crew volunteer. (There was) debris on the ground everywhere, water frozen, it was terrible. I don’t think he would have made it another night.

A Twitter user posted photos of the home to the social media site, tagging WJBK-TV news and asking for help rescuing a dog trapped in the basement. Advertisement The news station contacted Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue, which enlisted the help of firefighters to rescue the trapped canine. Neighbors said the dog had been trapped in the basement of the house for days and they had been throwing food down for him. Residents said they were concerned that a coming winter storm could lead to tragedy for the dog.

UTICA, Mich. (FOX 2) - The Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue said it saved a 6-month-old puppy after it was nearly thrown into a Macomb County river after being badly abused during its short lifetime. The Pit Crew Rescue posted on Facebook pictures of the puppy, which they say had been so badly beaten he had his two right legs broken and had a fractured skull. According to the Pit Crew, the suspect badly beat the 6-month-old puppy and was trying to throw him into a river.
