DALLAS (BUSINESS WIRE) Feb 4, 2021
Classic Recreations, the iconic custom vehicle builder of officially-licensed Shelby continuation cars and restorations, has unveiled the world’s first production heritage carbon-fiber bodied Shelby GT500CR™. The carbon fiber program, which is the biggest undertaking the company has tackled to-date after a long lineage of producing unique one-of-a-kind vehicles, is the embodiment of Carroll Shelby’s® legacy. The 810-horsepower vehicle marries the best of performance and innovation, utilizing cutting-edge carbon fiber technology from Speedkore Performance Group.
SpeedKore has unveiled its latest creation, fittingly dubbed the 1970 Dodge Charger Hellraiser.
For many years now, SpeedKore has been producing some remarkable restomods and the Hellraiser is one of its finest. We first wrote about the car back in October 2020 when it was being dyno tested but it has only now been unveiled.
Powering the car is Mopar’s remarkable 7.0-liter Hellephant 426 Hemi Create Engine that delivers a cool 1,000 hp and 950 lb-ft (1,288 Nm) of torque. Coupled to this engine is a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and a 9-inch Gear Effects Ford rear-end. SpeedKore has fabricated a custom exhaust with new headers for the powertrain while also fitting Magnaflow mufflers.

Classic Recreations builds exact-match Shelby GT500 Mustang with a carbon-fiber body. Custom Shelby produces 810 horsepower and 600 foot-pounds of torque while being 600 pounds lighter than a stock Shelby GT500.

I love carbon fiber. I love the looks, I love how the lighter weight changes the driving dynamics. I know not everyone feels the same about carbon fiber. To each their own.
So when I saw custom vehicle builder Classic Recreations was able to build the world’s first production heritage carbon-fiber bodied Shelby GT500CR I was excited to report on it. Classic Recreations is an officially licensed Shelby builder and the new carbon-fiber GT500, which boasts 810 horsepower, really does carry on the legacy and heritage of Carroll Shelby.

When it comes to Mopar-based restomods, few companies come close to the mad wizards at SpeedKore Performance Group. Built for comedian Kevin Hart, the latest creation from the Grafton-based outfit is called Hellraiser, thanks to its Hellephant V8 supercharged crate engine. 47 photos
The 7.0-liter leviathan is believed to number approximately 100 units, and when it was available to purchase, the force-fed motor with a 3.0-liter blower on top carried a retail price of $29,995 plus $2,265 for the engine kit. For reference, a brand-new Charger starts at $29,995 for the V6.
1,000 horsepower and 950 pound-feet (1,288 Nm) of torque are produced at the crankshaft, and all that fury is channeled to the rear axle by a Demon-spec automatic transmission with a console-mounted shifter. Custom-fabricated headers and MagnaFlow dual mufflers also need to be mentioned, along with aerospace-grade carbon fiber with a glossy finish.
