“Click It Or Ticket” The Tennessee Highway Safety Office is partnering with local law enforcement agencies on the “click it or ticket” campaign to get Tennessee drivers to wear their seatbelts. Now through June 6th, participating law enforcement agencies will be increasing their effort towards seat belt law compliance. According to TITAN…Tennessee’s Integrated Traffic Analysis Network…403 people killed in highway accidents last year in Tennessee were not wearing a seatbelt…a percentage of 33% of all the state’s traffic fatalities. According to numbers from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2019, there were nearly 9500 people killed in the United States in traffic accidents that were not wearing their seatbelt…many of those could have survived had they been buckled in…so buckle up.

East Ridge PD Increases Seat Belt Enforcement During National Click It Or Ticket Mobilization Thursday, May 20, 2021 The East Ridge Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to remind motorists to “Click It or Ticket.” From May 24 through June 6, participating agencies across the state will increase seat belt enforcement as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s nationwide mobilization. “Buckling up is such a simple task that can keep you and your family safe in the car,” said Chief Stan Allen. “But it’s more than that. Buckling up is the law. Our law enforcement officers see the consequences of not buckling up. We see the loss of life. Often, it could have been prevented with the simple click of a seat belt. This should be automatic.”

APSU Police to increase seat belt enforcement during Click It or Ticket campaign

Clarksville Now CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Austin Peay State University’s Police Department will increase seat belt enforcement  from May 24 through June 6 as part of a “Click It of Ticket ” campaign with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office. The enforcement campaign will primarily focus on nighttime enforcement, according to a release from APSU. Participating law enforcement will take a “no excuses” approach to seat belt enforcement, writing tickets day and night. “Buckling up is such a simple task that can keep you and your family safe in the car,” APSU Police Chief Sammie Williams said. “But it’s more than that. Buckling up is the law. Our law enforcement officers see the consequences of not buckling up. We see the loss of life. Often, it could have been prevented with the simple click of a seat belt. This should be automatic.”

BCSO Promotes Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month Thursday, May 6, 2021 The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to promote Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Agencies participate by providing information and increasing awareness in their communities about the importance of sharing the road and looking twice for motorcyclists.   “As the weather gets warmer, we will likely see more of our friends on motorcycles sharing the streets with automobiles, which is why it is the perfect time for us to remind the Bradley County community about the vulnerability of motorcycle riders,” says Sheriff Steve Lawson. “All motorists need to know how to anticipate and respond to motorcyclists to avoid crashes. By taking extra precautions, we can all help prevent motorcycle-involved collisions.”
