College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences honors distinguished alumni and Hall of Fame inductees

East Tennessee State University’s College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences recently announced its 2020 Distinguished Alumni and Hall of Fame Inductees. Typically, honorees are announced in the fall. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic last fall, the 2020 honorees will be recognized along with the 2021 honorees to be announced later this fall. The two recipients of the 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award from the CCRHS are: • Kim Garland — Garland received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and criminology from ETSU in 1998, and then returned to ETSU, where she earned a Master of Social Work degree in 2013. She currently serves as Child Protective Services director with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. Partnership Names 2 New Program Directors Friday, April 30, 2021 Sarah Elghalban Partnership for Families, Children and Adults has two new program directors. Sarah Elghalban has been named the director of Strategy and Grant Compliance. As a member of the agency’s administration team, Ms. Elghalban will monitor grant compliance, program outcomes, reporting, grant budgets, and performance of federal and state grants and organize and lead all strategic planning efforts.  She is also tasked with guiding the agency’s accreditation inspection process to achieve recertification with the Council on Accreditation to ensure that the organization’s programs and services meet best practice standards to maintain organization’s sustainability and growth.

But, there is no shortage of children in need of a loving family in Rutherford County… That was Paul Highfill with KidLink Community Services, an organization that works to place foster children in local homes. There are multiple reasons for children to be placed into the state’s foster care system… KidLink is contracted with the Department of Children Services to provide not only foster care placement, but also therapy for the children and hands on help with new foster parents.
