Teen accused of robbing realtor in East Nashville surrenders to police

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Metro police say an 18-year-old, who is accused of robbing a realtor at gunpoint in East Nashville last week, turned himself in Tuesday morning.
Officers said Deontaye Gooch-Blacksmith stole a Toyota SUV from the realtor on Porter Terrace on July 20. The vehicle has since been recovered but police are still searching for Gooch-Blacksmith.

Gooch-Blacksmith has previously been arrested twice for aggravated robbery in 2019. He was also a subject in
ELIZABETHTON â The Elizabethton Police Department is investigating an assault on a young girl on Monday in which the suspects are believed to be other juveniles.
âThere is an ongoing investigation on the serious and troubling situation,â Chief of Police Jason Shaw said. âThis is a delicate matter that we do take seriously.â Shaw went on to say âour investigators are taking the necessary steps to properly investigate.â
He said that includes reviewing evidence, interviews, consulting with the district attorney, the Carter County Juvenile Court and the Tennessee Department of Childrenâs Services.
The police began the investigation at 12:27 p.m. on Monday when officers were called to a residence on Bluefield Avenue, where an assault had just been called in to 911. The caller said her daughter had been beaten up by âmultiple teenagers.â
