This half-day virtual summit highlights diversity, inclusion and the 21st century workplace with informative breakout sessions and a keynote presentation from Rick C. Wade of the U.S. Chamber of the Commerce. The dual crises of COVID-19 and the unrest that swept our country last year put a spotlight on the high cost of racial and economic inequality, officials said. The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce continues its commitment to creating a business community that includes everyone with the annual Diversify Summit.
Police Blotter: Man Reporting To Probation Is 3 Sheets To The Wind; Pair Uses Citigo For Garbage Dump Wednesday, June 2, 2021
Police were called to TN Probation and Parole due to a possible intoxicated person who was reporting for their monthly meeting. A man showed up smelling like an intoxicant. The officer evaluated the man and determined he wasn t a danger to himself or others and he was released after his meeting. He is currently homeless and he said he stays in a tent near the Chattanooga Convention Center.
A woman on Grayshore Lane said she had purchased a red 2009 Nissan Altima late last year. She said she had a bill of sale and a Georgia title for the vehicle. She said that when she attempted to register the vehicle, in her name in Tennessee, she was told that the title was too worn out. Community leaders joined TVFCU employees for the grand opening of TVFCU’s new City Center Branch Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union opens its new City Center Branch, 728 Market St., Suite 112 B, in the heart of Chattanooga’s City Center on Monday. The walk-up branch is located directly across the street from TVFCU’s current branch at 715 Market Street. TVFCU opened its branch at 715 Market Street in June 1978. The branch has served TVFCU well during the past 43 years, but the three-story building no longer meets the credit union’s needs. TVFCU outgrew the administrative office space and moved to 535 Chestnut Street in February 2018.

Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union is celebrating National Small Business Week by opening the Fourth Annual Idea Leap Grant where small businesses can vie to win $21K in ’21.
Businesses in TVFCU’s 13-county service area that have been in operation for at least one year and have fewer than 20 employees are eligible to apply for their chance at winning one of five grants valued at $21,000, $15,000, $10,000, $7,000 and $5,000.
