Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is offering COVID-19 vaccines to all Veterans, caregivers, spouses, and select beneficiaries identified in the SAVE LIVES Act.
COVID-19 vaccinations depend on available supply, and the act requires TVHS to prioritize Veterans enrolled in VA care.
“Since the start of the pandemic, we have focused on vaccinating as many Veterans as possible. Now, we are excited to increase our efforts thanks to the SAVE LIVES Act,” said TVHS Health System Director Jennifer Vedral-Baron.

During the first 90 days of 2021, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System has vaccinated more than 37,000 Veterans with COVID-19 vaccines.
There are 139 VA health care systems offering COVID-19 vaccines, and TVHS ranks in the top 25 percent for most vaccines distributed. In the state of Tennessee, TVHS is the leader among other VA hospitals.
“It has been absolutely thrilling to see how many Veterans we’ve been able to vaccinate,” Dr. Richa Misra, TVHS COVID-19 vaccine coordinator said. “Our team has been incredible. I remember December 23 was the first day we received our Moderna shipment, and we started vaccinating pretty much that day.”

The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is offering COVID-19 vaccines to enrolled Veterans of all ages starting Friday, March 12.
To request a vaccine appointment, enrolled Veterans should use VA’s “Keep Me Informed” tool or contact their health care provider. TVHS Veterans can also attend the walk-in vaccine clinic Saturday, March 13 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Nashville and
Murfreesboro campuses.
