Connors joined a coalition of 44 attorneys general led by Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, Nebraska Attorney General Douglas Peterson, Tennessee Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III and Vermont Attorney General T.J. Donovan urging Facebook to abandon its plans to launch a version of Instagram for children under the age of 13, citing serious concerns about the safety and well-being of children and the harm social media poses to young people.

Utah AG urges Congress to support bill to prevent school violence, shootings © Provided by KUTV Salt Lake City Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes is among several attorneys general urging Congress to pass a bill aiming to prevent violence in schools.  The EAGLES Act would expand the U.S. Service s National Threat Assessment Center with a greater focus on school violence prevention, according to a news release. The legislation is named after the mascot of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where 17 people were killed on Feb. 14, 2018. In the letter to the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, the attorneys general wrote, “It is unfortunate we have to turn to the threat assessment expertise of the Secret Service in order to keep educators and students safe at school, but gun violence in schools has become all too commonplace.”
